This course is aimed at those who are just starting out riding mountain bikes and need a bit of training to get the best out of their new bike.  It will give you the confidence to tackle basic routes and obstacles you may encounter.   This course builds on what was learnt in the beginners course.  Using natural trails it will allow you to develop your skills with real life obstacles.  At the end of the course you will have the confidence to tackle harder routes at higher speeds.
The course will cover the following:-
  • Bike safety checks and set-up.
  • Pedalling technique.
  • Correct use of brakes and gears.
  • Correct body position.
  • Cornering at low & medium speeds.
  • Climbing efficiently & descending safely.
  • Tackling a variety of obstacles.
  • How to read the trail.
  The course will cover the following:-
  • Review of beginners course
  • Using brakes at medium/high speed.
  • Cornering at medium/high speeds.
  • Powered front wheel lift.
  • Bunny Hops.
  • Track stands.
  • Tackling a variety of obstacles.
  • How to read the trail at speed.
Previous experience required - None, except being able to ride a bike!!
